Gate Access

House Bill 1473 establishes new perimeter and door safety requirements for all schools. 

Our bus loop will remain open throughout the day. However, our Parent Pick Up loop will ONLY be open during arrival and dismissal, 6:00am-8:30am and 1:45pm-4:30pm. It will be closed and locked during the day.

Early Dismissals

Our Early Dismissal Policy has changed due to our Parent Pick Up gate remaining locked during the school day. 

There will be no check outs after 1:45 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (12:45 on Wednesday’s).

No exceptions will be made.

Transportation Information

Let your child’s teacher know how your child will be going home each day beginning the first day of school. 

Bus

We encourage you to allow your child to ride the bus beginning the first day of school.  Bus stop locations, drop off and pick up times are located in HAC (Home Access Center).  You can access HAC on the St. Johns County School District Website.  If you have not used HAC before, select the link titled Online Registration Instructions.  For questions about HAC please contact the school at (904) 547-8610.  For questions about bus stop locations and time, contact the St. Johns County Schools Transportation Department at (904) 547-7810.

Parent Pick Up

If you will be picking up your child from school, you will need to place the school approved Parent Pick Up sign in the drivers side of your car window.  Please be prepared to show your ID when requested by our staff working the Parent Pick Up Loop.

Bullying Partnership

St. Johns County School District believes that all students and employees be afforded a setting that is safe, secure, and free from bullying and harassment of any kind. In compliance with Florida Statute 1006.147 and School Board Rule 3.21, the school district has adopted a comprehensive policy prohibiting bullying and harassment.

Head Start

St. Johns County School District Head Start provides a free pre-school program and comprehensive health and social services to eligible three- and four-year-old children and their families living in St. Johns County. Head Start is for income eligible families, proof of income is required.

Character Counts at South Woods!

South Woods Elementary promotes the Character Counts! framework for teaching good character. The six pillars of Characters Counts! are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. PBS is committed to providing a safe environment for all students.

Instructional Materials Review - K-12 English Language Arts

The St. Johns County School District has begun its review of instructional materials for K-12 English Language Arts. These resources are chosen from the list of materials submitted to the Florida Department of Education.

FL Dept. of Health Extended Hours

To help support St. John County students' return to school, our local Florida Department of Health Offices will remain open until 7 p.m. on July 17, 23, and 30 and on August 5, 6, 7. The offices are located at 200 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine. See the flyer for details

FortifyFL

FortifyFL is a mobile app and web-based tool that allows students, parents, and community members in Florida to anonymously report suspicious activities, potential threats, or safety concerns related to schools. The app immediately forwards these reports to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials for rapid response.

School Access

School access (proceeding past the front office of any school) is required for every individual that is not a staff member of the St. Johns County School District.  This is done through completion of the district’s volunteer application. School access is good for 3 years. For help completing the online application, please call (904) 547-3945.

Summer BreakSpot Free Meals for Kids & Teens

Summer BreakSpot offers balanced breakfasts, lunches, snacks or dinners at no cost for kids 18 and under. Meals will be served on site, at no cost, at places like parks, libraries, schools, and churches.

Summer 2025 High School Facility Use

In an effort to promote community health and well-being this summer, SJCSD will open its high school facilities to the public on select Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Due to ongoing athletic field turf renovations, Ponte Vedra High School’s facilities will not be available. View the flyer for details.

2025-2026 Bus Schedules

Families who have not yet logged in to the BusPlanner website or the Chipmunk app are strongly encouraged to create an account before the end of the school year. This will help ensure that you are able to access your child’s 2025-2026 bus schedule when schedules are released during the last week of July 2025.
